Description
Roadways near Paoli Station will be reconfigured to improve circulation and safety for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists, while better accommodating train operations. The work will also support Paoli redevelopment efforts.
This $35 million second phase of improvements at Paoli will extend Darby Road by constructing a new bridge across the tracks just east of the station building, connecting to Lancaster Avenue. The northwest and north parking areas and jitney routes will be combined. The current crossing—the old, narrow North Valley Road Bridge to the west of the station—will be demolished.
Just north of the parking lots, the intersections of North Valley Road with East Central Avenue and West Central Avenue, which are currently offset, will be reconfigured into one roundabout.
