Description
The wayfinding project at 30th Street Station improved the passenger experience as well as traffic and pedestrian flow. Drivers and pedestrians are now able to find their way more easily to and from parking, local transit, train platforms, and other station services.
The project removed hundreds of outdated signs and installed interior and exterior signs in various forms:
- Free-standing directional signs;
- Dynamic gate identification kiosks;
- Passenger information displays;
- Map kiosks;
- Overhead wayfinding signs; and
- Wall plaques.
A master planning and design phase ensured the signage adhered to Amtrak’s national standards while being approved for 30th Street Station, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
