Description
Ardmore’s new station building will provide ADA accessibility, improve multimodal connectivity, and enhance aesthetics and passenger amenities. It is also designed to serve as a catalyst for surrounding transit-oriented development.
The 1957 station building currently in use will be replaced by a new building on the existing SEPTA parking lot. The estimated $36 million project includes:
- 528-foot-long high-level and 200-foot-long low-level platforms with canopies (to provide accessible boarding for both Amtrak and SEPTA trains);
- Tunnel renovations to provide ADA access across the tracks;
- New elevators; and
- Site improvements such as stormwater facilities.
